His background is in energy, sustainability, and climate change and he has implementation experience ranging from individual building sites to state legislation.
Prior to this role he worked as a sustainability consultant at WSP Built Ecology, helping clients design and implement sustainability, health, and resilience strategies in the built environment. His projects ranged from certifying green buildings as small as 5,000 SF to developing energy master plans for district scale communities as large as 14 million SF. He has also worked with former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter Jr. at the Center for the New Energy Economy on state policy to facilitate renewable energy, energy efficiency, and advanced transportation legislation.
Chris graduated with honors from Colorado College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Studio Art. Originally from Portland, OR, he now lives in Brooklyn and still loves food coops, community gardens, cyclocross, and being above treeline.
