Originally trained as an architect, Michelle aims to develop the practice at the intersection of public sector innovation, urban design, and technology. Prior to joining Sidewalk, she led the design team at Flux.io, a software startup incubated inside of Google[x] that helps architects design and build more efficiently.
Prior to Flux, Michelle was a director at IDEO, guiding user-centered design teams and establishing a public sector portfolio of work in the Chicago office. Her clients have included the Chicago Public Libraries, American Express, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the TSA.
She is actively involved in arts and design education, and has served on the board of the Hyde Park Art Center and spent a year reimagining design curriculum at RISD. She holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard and degrees in Architecture and Management from MIT. Originally from the Bay Area, she’s excited to explore all that New York City has to offer with her husband and young daughter.
